Residential Child Care

In the nurturing environment of our residencies across Scotland and England, we welcome children and young people aged 8-18 who need a safe space to call ‘home’.

Our services are flexible and adapt to meet the needs of each and every young person.

Adverse childhood experiences have often characterised their early years, and therefore, we strive to foster a sense of belonging for those who are unable to live with their families.

We’re passionate about training, quality improvement and ensuring that the young people in our care are protected from harm, kept safe and can be supported to fulfil their potential in real loving family-led homes.

The lives of our children and young people

For many of our children and young people, incidents of abuse and neglect have characterised their early years’ experiences. Attachment disorder through neglectful relationships has hampered their development, their ability to form relationships and regulate emotions. Their view of themselves, others, and the world around them is therefore driven by a deeply rooted belief that adults cannot be trusted.

Some young people will have experienced multiple moves between homes, foster and residential homes, and they are overwhelmed by loss and an innate sense of grief, sadness, guilt, hopelessness, helplessness, and shame. Sadly, the survival responses to their own unmet needs have been to develop maladaptive coping mechanisms that manifest in harmful behaviours. Our aim is to support them to overcome their challenges, discover what incredible human beings they are, and embark on self-healing journeys.

Our Therapeutic Parenting approach

Our eclectic Therapeutic Parenting model recognises the importance of connection through relationships for children and young people. It’s where recovery starts and ends and allows us to support individuals to see themselves more positively and engage more widely with the world around them.

Real Pebbles Stories

Pebbles gave me a chance when no-one else would. The team at Kylimoons have become my family and I am forever grateful for the love and support they have given me.

Our homes

Our homes differ in size, allowing us to offer care for those requiring solo accommodation or small groups living in two, three, or four-bedroomed accommodations. Pebbles’ homes across England and Scotland are in beautiful semi-rural settings, providing a peaceful environment where young people can feel safe.
