Our school in Dunfermline offers modern, light, flexible and spacious accommodation to allow our young people to thrive in a supportive and caring environment, within classrooms of maximum six pupils at a time. We put nurturing at the heart of everything we do and our dedicated nurture area, partnerships, tailored curriculum, and approaches to inclusion ensure our 90%+ attendance record and high level of engagement with the flexible curriculum.
Since opening at the end of 2017, the school already has a proven track record in ensuring our young people settle into school quickly and begin to make progress from day one. Our experienced team work collaboratively to meet the needs of each pupil and plan bespoke learning pathways through our Adapt Learning model, so that every individual can develop and flourish.
For example, our young people enjoy the benefits of equine therapy and have developed a therapeutic garden in the grounds of the school, where they can relax and take their minds away from their stresses.
Wider achievement and skills for learning, life and work are of high importance alongside excellent progress in core subjects at all levels. ASDAN and Personal Achievement Awards complement the formal curriculum to ensure our young people achieve a sustained positive destination. So far, 100% of our leavers have secured a place in further education.
