Our Muirkirk school has developed a reputation for building better futures for young people who have disengaged from education, within classrooms of maximum six pupils at a time. Our flexible approach, through bespoke learning pathways facilitated by our Adapt Learning model, encourages pupils to overcome their challenges and pursue excellence.
Young people feel welcome and appreciate the opportunities offered to them to improve their qualifications and life chances through bespoke curricula. Wider achievement and skills for learning, life and work are facilitated alongside excellent progress in core subjects at all levels. ASDAN and Personal Achievement Awards complement the formal curriculum to ensure our young people achieve sustained positive outcomes.
The school’s rural setting in Ayrshire complements the calm and therapeutic nature of the surrounding homes and supports varied outdoor learning and excursion programmes, allowing young people to explore their interests and develop as responsible citizens.
At Muirkirk, we support a maximum of 20 pupils between the ages of 12 and 18.
Muirkirk Skills Hub offers tangible vocational learning for young people who may wish to engage in apprenticeships and career training. We also offer qualifications through our affiliation with accredited curriculum programmes, including ASDAN and Playback ICE.
