Ruby House

Ruby House

Ruby House is situated in Sherburn in Elmet on the outskirts of Leeds a semi-rural location.

The house is detached and is a five bed-roomed property. We aim to ensure that our house reflects that of family home where young people feel safe, relaxed and cared for in a non institutionalised setting.

Each young person has their own bedroom, a desk and a T.V. where there is privacy and the space to do schoolwork.

Young people are given a key for their room and encouraged to take responsibility for their own space. Each young person’s bedroom is warm and bright and we encourage all those who come and live with us to bring their own personal possessions so they can make their bedroom feel their own and take ownership of their surroundings.

A member of staff within the team has the responsibility for ensuring that the environment of the home is maintained to a high standard. Young people are encouraged, to use the kitchen for the preparation of food.

In the home, there is a large lounge, diner / kitchen, utility room, two communal toilets, house bathroom with separate shower, five bedrooms (two with en-suite facilities).

The home has approximately two acres of garden to the rear of the property where games and activities can be played and private car parking for visitors.

All young people residing at Ruby House can be educated at Eden Park Academy, Leeds, West Yorkshire.
