Whispers is a detached home set in its own gardens front and rear. The detached home is also accompanied by an annex property at the rear of the main building, all located within Whispers grounds, set within the residential village of Heysham.
The location of the building and its exterior blends in well with the local community. The home is situated in a location that supports its aims and objectives. This includes being able to access external services, recreational activities and to support our young people to maintain and develop relationships with family and friends.
Whispers provides accommodation for up to 3 young people of all genders between the ages of 8 and 18 years old within the main property and the possibility of solo placement within the bungalow in its grounds. This allows for one young person that struggles to live in a multi bed home, but is still open to spending recreational time with others, find what they need at Whispers.
All young people are accommodated in individual single rooms. An appropriate degree of privacy for the Children is offered, including individual lockable storage.
The home is in walking distance of a serene village, a number of sports fields/play areas and local sports centre with a gymnasium. There is also a nature reserves and lots of amenities in nearby towns, include organised trips to roller-skating, trampolining, ice skating, bowling or parkland trips. Each young person is actively encouraged to participate in community-based activities held locally. These may include sea cadets, football clubs, table tennis clubs, judo clubs, horse riding, St Johns Ambulance and many others.
