The house has one bedroom, with a good standard of furnishings, while it is fully central heated and double-glazed throughout. The accommodation on the ground floor includes a well-sized kitchen, a conservatory to the rear with a dining room and a comfortable living room at the front of the property. On the second floor is a bedroom, an office and a bathroom. The house aims to replicate the feel and facilities expected within any good and stimulating family home.
Tyne Close is situated within 35 minutes’ drive of Keswick in the heart of the Lake District National Park. The local area is a playground for outdoor activities, where there are gentle walks in beautiful valleys, or for the more adventurous types, fell walking on the Lakeland Peaks. The area is also ideal for water sports including canoeing and sailing, plus Ghyll scrambling, rock climbing, mountain biking and more which are on offer to all young people through the outdoor department.
At Tyne Close, we provide a long-term single occupancy placement for one young person. To help ensure placement success, young people will undergo a matching process to explore compatibility with other young people within the service and possible moves to shared living units in the future. This will involve consideration being given to the ages, genders, circumstances and presenting needs of the young people being placed.
The town centre is a two-minute drive in the car and has all local facilities, including supermarkets, library and a leisure centre, which features a climbing wall, swimming pool, gym and evening activities. The M6 motorway is a close drive from the house, allowing easy access to southern Scotland and the Lake District. Penrith also has good public transport, which are all within walking distance from the house.

By working therapeutically, we help change behaviours from those driven by a desire to self-harm to those where self-care feels a more satisfying option. The home receives the invaluable support of a dedicated in-house psychologist.
