Tanglewood
Tanglewood is small 2-bedded detached house situated in a rural village in South Lanarkshire.
We aim to ensure our house reflects that of a family home for young people to feel safe, relaxed and cared for in a non-institutionalised setting. There is a 1:1 staffing to young person ratio which allows nurturing, trust, and self-esteem building.
The house has a fitted kitchen, utility room, dining room and lounge, and there is also a bedroom/office for staff located downstairs. Upstairs there are two bedrooms for young people, one with en-suite facilities. There is also a bathroom including a shower and bath.
Each of the young person’s bedrooms are warm and bright and we encourage all those who come and live with us to bring their own personal possessions so they can make their bedroom feel like their own, allowing them to flourish. We also provide a TV with Freeview in each bedroom.
Outside at the front and side of the property, there is a parking area for four vehicles and to the rear of the property there is a garden with a lawn where children and young people can both play and relax.
Any young person resident at Tanglewood can be educated at Pebbles Learning and Skills Centre, located in Muirkirk, East Ayrshire. Tanglewood has access to a wide range of leisure activities in the area including cinema, theatres, swimming pools and bowling. Other leisure amenities include biking tracks, climbing walls, laser quest, paintballing, go-karting and a local gym.
