South Lodge is our newly opened solo residence home in the village of Leslie, Fife. The home provides a familial environment where a child or young person who cannot remain at home can be cared for temporarily in a way that allows them to experience a strong sense of physical and emotional safety and nurture.
The home is ideally situated for young people who require a calm and peaceful environment for a period. The home is positioned on the outskirts of a semi-rural village and ideal for accessing outdoor pursuits such as hill walking, fishing, and days out on the beach but is easily accessible to other amenities such as shopping, cinema, bowling, and swimming within the local towns. The home has excellent transport links which we view to be necessary in ensuring that young people, their families, and friends continue to enjoy spending time together.
South Lodge Care Team
Our care team at South Lodge consists of a Registered Manager, Deputy Managers and five Residential Child Care Workers who are all registered professionals with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). The staff are trained in Child Protection and Safeguarding, Health and Safety, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Crisis Aggression Limitation and Management training as well as having access to a vast array of training programmes based on their own individual needs and interests. All staff are trained in the Therapeutic Parenting Training Programme that has been specifically designed by the organisation to ensure that we provide the children and young people we care for with the highest standards of trauma informed care.
Staff provide a 24 hour wrap around care experience for our young people, from the basic care needs of the individual to developing strength-based care plans and appropriate risk management plans to support the growth and development of the young person. Staff work in line with the Health and Social Care Standards (2017), the Care Inspectorate Quality Standards Framework and the SSSC Codes of Conduct to ensure best practice is at the core of our service delivery.
At South Lodge we recognise that living away from home can be difficult for young people and those who love them, we view the opportunity to care for the young person as a privilege and endeavour to ensure that their journey with us is a fulfilling experience and enhances their lifelong skills.
