Pebbles House
Pebbles House is a detached property situated in Withernsea on the east coast of Yorkshire, located on the promenade with fantastic views of the sea.
The house has been recently refurbished and has a warm and modern feel, providing a friendly and caring environment. We aim to ensure that our house reflects that of a family home where young people feel safe, relaxed and cared for in a non-institutionalised setting.
Each young person has their own bedroom where there is privacy and space to do schoolwork, which they each have a key to access – young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own space. Each young person’s bedroom is warm and bright, and we encourage all those who come and live with us to bring their own personal possessions to make their bedroom feel like their own and take ownership of their surroundings, allowing them to flourish.
The staff team ensure that the environment of the home is maintained to a high standard and young people are encouraged to help with jobs to keep the communal areas clean and tidy. Young people are encouraged to use the kitchen for the preparation of food, helping them to build their skills.
On the ground floor there is a fitted kitchen, dining/living room, office, bedroom, chill out room for playing games or doing schoolwork, a downstairs toilet and utility room. Upstairs there are two bedrooms for young people, as well as a bathroom and a separate shower room.
The home is designed to meet the needs of young people that have suffered significant trauma in their lives using a wholly restorative, empathetic, and therapeutically based approach.
The premises are made up of a detached property offering group occupancy for up to two young residents and a separate bungalow caring for one, all between the ages of eight & seventeen and of any gender.
