Moss House is situated within a semi-rural setting and is a provision for 2 young people.
We aim to ensure that our house reflects that of a family home where young people feel safe, relaxed and cared for in a non-institutionalised setting.
We offer short term, long term and emergency placements for a maximum of two young people with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. One large single room has the benefit of an en-suite bathroom with shower, wash hand basin and toilet, and also has a safety alarm fitted. The two smaller bedrooms have the use of a shared bathroom with facilities such as a bath, shower, wash hand basin and toilet. Each of the young person’s rooms are warm and bright and we encourage all of those who come and live with us to bring their personal possessions to decorate their space and make their bedrooms feel like their own, allowing them to flourish. We also provide a TV and CD/radio in each bedroom to keep the children entertained.
On the ground floor, Moss House has a fitted kitchen, dining room and lounge; there is also an office and an additional sleep-in area for team members.
Outside, at the front of the property, there is a parking area for four vehicles. To the rear of the property, there is a garden with a lawn where children and young people can both play and relax.
Moss House has a wide range of offsite facilities including a range of leisure activities, such as a cinema, theatres, swimming pools, ice skating, laser quest, skate parks, bowling, a quarry and nature reserve, Williamson Park, Lancaster Castle, Judges Lodgings, Lancaster Museum, Farleton Knott, Holme Lodge Quarry and other individual activities.
Moss House has a supportive care team which is led by a manager who carries strong morals and passion for providing the best quality of care.
