Blue Potts is a three-bed detached property. We aim to ensure that our house reflects that of a family home where young people can feel safe, relaxed and cared for in a non-institutionalised setting. The staff at Blue Potts aim to make sure that the needs of children and Young People who can’t live with their own families are met. That means that as well as providing food, shelter, and space for play and leisure in a caring environment, we also act as a place where children can grow and develop.
Each young person has their own bedroom where there is privacy and space to do schoolwork. Young people are encouraged to take responsibility for their own space. Each young person’s bedroom is warm and bright, and we encourage all those who come and live with us to bring their own personal possessions to make their bedroom feel like their own and to take ownership of their surroundings. The staff team ensure that the environment of the home is maintained to a high standard and young people are encouraged to help with jobs to keep the communal areas clean and tidy. Young people are encouraged also to use the kitchen for the preparation of food.
Blue Potts has a warm and modern feel, providing a friendly, welcoming, and caring environment. On the ground floor there is a fitted kitchen, dining room, living room and garage. Upstairs there are three single bedrooms for young people (two with en-suite facilities), an office, and the bathroom.
Outside the front of the property there is a parking area and to the rear of the property there is a garden with a lawn and a decking area where children can play and young people can relax.
Blue Potts has access to lots of off-site facilities which include a wide range of leisure activities including cinema, theatres, swimming pools and bowling. Other leisure amenities include the Lake District, Lancaster Castle, Morecambe Football Club, local sport teams for cricket, rugby, football, netball, and swimming.
