Viewly Hill Cottage is located on the outskirts of Northallerton, an idyllic market town in North Yorkshire.
The building itself is a semi-rural property giving panoramic views of the North Yorkshire countryside. Our home pride itself on a therapeutic approach to caring for young people.
We strive to consistently provide a nurturing environment for the young people who come and live with us and we support them with whatever difficulties they are facing in life. By creating a warm, friendly environment we aim to develop secure attachments with our young people which will allow us to work together to help achieve the best possible outcomes.
The wellbeing of our young people is paramount at Viewly Hill Cottage and we aim to grow with our young people and support them in feeling safe. We develop individual young person’s skills and try to encourage them to be the best that they can be in life.
We hope that the young people we care for enjoy their time at Viewly Hill and look back with fond memories of the staff, their experiences and a place they could briefly call home.

We aim to ensure that our house reflects the environment of a family home where young people feel safe, relaxed, and cared for in a non-institutionalised setting. On the ground floor there is a kitchen, dining room, two living rooms, and a bathroom, as well as three bedrooms and a staff office. On the first floor there is a bathroom, and two large bedrooms and a staff bedroom. At the front there is a large garden, and a gravelled area to the rear.

At Viewly Hill Cottage, we support children and young people through Therapeutic Parenting. By working therapeutically, we help change behaviours from those driven by a desire to self-harm to those where self-care feels a more satisfying option. The home receives the invaluable support of a dedicated in-house psychologist.
