Dalveen Farmhouse is located eight miles from the town of Thornhill in the most tranquil part of Scotland. Dalveen is a spacious Victorian property set within a large garden surrounded by open countryside.
The home comprises six bedrooms, two of which are en-suite and all decorated to a high standard, giving young people somewhere they can relax in private, with two bathrooms located on the first floor. There are three large comfortable communal rooms, and a country style kitchen with a large range cooker. There is also a separate laundry room.
The home can accommodate up to four young people with complex needs.
Dalveen House Care Team
Our care team at Dalveen House are trained in Child Protection and Safeguarding, Health and Safety, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Crisis Aggression Limitation and Management training as well as having access to a vast array of training programmes based on their own individual needs and interests. All staff are trained in the Therapeutic Parenting Training Programme that has been specifically designed by the organisation to ensure that we provide the children and young people we care for with the highest standards of trauma informed care.
Staff provide a 24 hour wrap around care experience for our young people, from the basic care needs of the individual to developing strength-based care plans and appropriate risk management plans to support the growth and development of the young person. Staff work in line with the Health and Social Care Standards (2017), the Care Inspectorate Quality Standards Framework and the SSSC Codes of Conduct to ensure best practice is at the core of our service delivery.
At Dalveen House we recognise that living away from home can be difficult for young people and those who love them. We view the opportunity to care for the young person as a privilege and endeavour to ensure that their journey with us is a fulfilling experience and enhances their lifelong skills.
