Cambridge House is based in St Helens in the North West of England. Our nearest big city is Liverpool, but we have easy access to other parts of the country, due to good train, bus and road links and have easy access to motorways, so can get to Liverpool, Manchester and beyond.
Cambridge House is a 1-1 placement and the young person who lives there has been with us for 8 years and attended mainstream school. The house is a normal terraced home with a back garden, and comprises of entrance hall, living room, dining room, sunroom and kitchen downstairs, with 2 good sized bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. The home is also near to local shops, the town centre and local retail parks which are within walking distance.
Cambridge House is on a normal residential street and is only about 5 minutes’ walk to the town centre. The town centre has a bowling alley, cinema, lots of places to eat and plenty of gyms, as well as high street shops and retail parks. We have recreational parks and lots of sports fields that cater for rugby, football, cricket, rounders and swimming. We are also close to army and navy cadets which offers lots of interesting opportunities should our young people wish to engage with them.
We are close to junior and senior schools and work well with all our young people’s education providers to enable them to have the best possible learning outcomes. The staff are able to provide a warm, welcoming home which is decorated with a lot of input from young people, not only to personalise their own room, but also the rest of the home so that they can make is as comfortable as possible in which to feel safe, secure and cared for.
We support our young people with education and leisure pursuits in order that they can become rounded, independent young people who can move forward into adult hood.
