Broad Oak is close to the town centre, local amenities, good contact links, motorways and a central local train station.
1-1 placements are generally very therapeutic for young people and can be a stepping-stone between fostering and residential care. Young people receive intense 24/7 support from a small staff team who we always try to keep as consistent as possible, with no other distractions, enabling a family environment to be created.
Young people live in an environment as close to that of a family home as is possible. Most of the young people we care for have attachment difficulties and a 1-1 placement is ideal for attachment and relationship building development to be completed. 1-1 placements are also ideal for supporting family relationships and facilitating contact within the home.
At Broad Oak House, we support children and young people through Therapeutic Parenting. By working therapeutically, we help change behaviours from those driven by a desire to self-harm to those where self-care feels a more satisfying option. The home receives the invaluable support of a dedicated in-house psychologist.
