Zoe Charnock

Area Manager

Zoe has nearly 30 years of experience working with different young people in care and care leavers, all with a variety of needs, helping them make progress and achieve the best they possibly can.

She began her professional career by conducting one-on-one sessions with young people in care or on the verge of care, then moved on to work in youth justice for a short time before becoming a Council Participation Officer for ten years. Following that, Zoe became the Corporate Parenting Manager for the local authority, making sure that all services recognised their responsibilities and contributed to improving the outcomes of looked-after children as their corporate parents. She has also been carrying out Regulation 44 visits to children’s homes up and down the country for the past 17 years.

Zoe is very committed and passionate about making a difference in young people’s lives and improving the services and support available. She encourages young people to take part in this process by discussing their experiences of the care system with them. Zoe has been involved in making some very significant improvements to the lives of children and young people in care locally, regionally, and nationally, and strives to continue to do so.
