Derek Johnson

Health and Safety Manager

Derek is a NEBOSH qualified Health and Safety manager and a technical member of IOSH.

Derek completed a 30 year police career as a front line officer and later specialised in Emergency planning and response. In 2011 he joined Hanover Housing association as an estate manager where he supported residents over the age of 55 and achieved a Level 3 qualification in housing practice.

In 2013 his career took him along the Health and Safety route when he joined the Royal Armouries Museum as their Health and Safety/Facilities manager across three museums. In 2017 Derek joined an international logistics company where he was appointed Head of Health and Safety as a member of the senior team managing a 1.1 million square foot warehouse and 1000 staff. He led the site to full ISO compliance in 2020 and achieved numerous safety awards during his time there.

Derek is very passionate about all aspects of safety and is committed to ensuring a safe environment for all.
